Disaster Averted

My laptop recently died, taking all my gaming stuff from the last 10 or so years with it. I managed to get it running one more time and scrambled to copy all my writing onto a flash drive, shoving it all in like the women and children from the Titanic.

So, I've started to work on Zombie-o-rama again. I'd like to have a version that can travel to GASPCon in Pittsburgh where Frag-o-rama has some fans. When I first post it, it will probably be missing campaign and scenario rules just so people can get a look. It is definitely a scenario centered game though.

Look for updates soon. For real this time.

Zombies-a-go-go

I'm plugging along at Zombie-o-rama. I've tentatively finished the rules and stats for all the different zombie "species." I still need to create the cards.

But, as a preview, here are the descriptions of all the different types of zombies.

Shambler
Shamblers are your classic walking corpse. Reanimated by some horrible, infectious force, their bite turns anyone slain by a shambler, into a shambler. Contrary to popular opinion, shamblers do not eat their victims. They simply bite and pummel them to death in order to create more zombies.

Savage
Sometimes called “fast zombies” or even “zoombies”, savages are people infected with the SAVAGE virus. They are NOT undead. The SAVAGE virus destroys all intelligent thought, turning the victim into a blood spewing maniac.

Slug Zombie
No one is sure where the brain slugs come from. Smart money is on outer space, either in a meteor, or possibly an alien teenager's science experiment run amok. Whatever their origin, brain slugs crawl into the brains of recently deceased or living humans through any convenient orifice or wound, turning them into slug zombies. If that weren't bad enough, they multiply in the brain.

Z-Trooper
Science run amok! Z-troopers are the military's attempt to make a perfect soldier that obeys all orders and doesn't feel pain. Well, they were half right. At least they don't turn people into zombies. Did I mention they're radioactive?

Zombie-o-rama

I just finished "World War Z" recently, and couldn't resist writing a new game based on the Frag-o-rama rules.

Here's the intro paragraph:

It finally happened. You're not sure if it was the weird, green comet's tail, that toxic waste they found in the landfill, the outbreak of “African rabies”, or if maybe it had something to do with those UFO sightings or that passage you read from the Necronomicon, but whatever it was, the dead are walking. And they're hungry. The zombie apocalypse has come, and it's every survivor for themselves. Zombie-o-rama is a zombie survival miniatures game for one or more players. Remember...aim for the head.

Keep checking back for updates!

Input wanted!

There are lots of people from all over the world downloading Frag-o-rama, and that's super-cool.

Do you have ideas for new weapons? Upgrades? Vehicles? Pictures of games? Scenarios? Variant rules? Anything? Please email them to hexxenhammer(at)comcast.net and I'll post them up.

Jim, this means you.

Link-o-rama

I've added some links.

Rivets & Steam is a very cool Web site with a lot of sweet VSF stuff. Al also created a Frag-o-rama page over a year ago. He's got some cool variant and extra rules.

Ebbles Miniatures does cardstock and paper models. Perfect for Frag-o-rama vehicles.

More Minis

Pghgamer is whipping up some Frag-o-rama stuff using some 40K minis. I've heard good things about these Pittsburgh guys, can't wait to see how they turn out.

Weapon Tokens

This is a pic of my Weapon Tokens. They are all 40K weapon bitz on washers.

Of course, the weapon you get is the card you draw, these are just a nice visual. Do they need more blood splatters?
